Why did we move from analogue to digital television?
I heard about this forever. Now its more as likely to return to June 12. But I still have no idea what is the difference between digital and analogue television. What benefits? What are the disadvantages?
Advantages: - much better image quality. - Much more efficient use of spectrum. A single digital channel can now carry up to six video streams. - Reimbursement of 100 MHz spectrum for use in advanced wireless services and security operations public. Disadvantages: - Need a new digital television or converter. - People who have very poor analogue reception May receive nothing at all now. - Nearly obsolete VCR for unattended (timer) recordings, because they do not have digital tuners and most can not control a converter.
