What other drugs can I use for the treatment of marine white spots ... do not use copper?
There only two proven methods for treating the Marine "Ich", copper and hyposalinity. None of these methods can be used in the presence elasmobranch (sharks and rays). Hyposalinity is the recommended treatment because it is not dangerous to stress in fish and actually facilitates osmotic fish. Hyposalinity can also be performed in the presence of limestone substrates. The salinity should be lowered gradually to allow the fish time to adjust to the lower salinity and especially ensures the bacteria in the biological filter can adapt.
