Why Rolex watches have the number 4 symbol on the watch dial Roman numeral IIII instead of IV?
Rolex uses the common symbol IX for the number 9 so what's the deal with number 4?
The form of four characters IIII creates a visual symmetry with the VIII the other side, which IV would not. Let IIII or IV is acceptable for 4, so I guess the "eyes" have it.
