Is there a way to keep my Japanese Beatles shrubs flower?
What Chemicla would be safe for this purpose without damaging the foliage?
Would I recommend using MERIT. It is a systemic insecticide that is absorbed by the plant. But of course it works only when the real beginning of Japanese beetles feeding on the plant. Use this inconjuction with a Japanese beetle trap available at most home appliances and garden. Place traps away from plants you want to protect as the trap will attract beetles .... not want any of them buggers in near your plants you know. I recommend about 30 feet or more. Also, treat your lawn and flower beds with a killer GRUB so you can catch some of the beetles as larvae and help reduce the local population .... Good Luck.
