The presence of a partial vacuum b / w integral pleural membranes in normal breathing movements.?

What if an opening made in the chest cavity, like a puncture wound? How this condition medical treatment?

Is this a homework question? The answer is yes. I think the negative pressure is approximately -3 cmH2O ... I do not know, it's been awhile. So do not quote me not that. Essentially, the pressure allows the lung to stick closely to the chest wall without actually being glued to the chest wall. Sometimes they kind of stick together with talc for some cancer patients (see below pleuradesis if you want to learn about it). Pleural fluid normally allows free movement between the surfaces (much like a piston being lubricated by engine oil in an engine). If you are opening, you'll probably pneumothorax. It may not be the worst case that (which is the tension pneumothorax). For a tension pneumothorax, you have to throw in a chest tube to equalize pressure. In less serious cases, you just patch it.
