Pocket Watch Case
I have a pocket watch with the name Fahys on the back under the case lid. Also a date of pattent of April 1879?
The is a serial number on the back, inside the case of #244146. The face doesn't have anything on it as to who made it. This watch was my great great grandfather's watch.
Fahys was a case company-they didn't make watches themselves.
Inside the back cover, you'll find a second cover-called the cuvette. This pries open in the same way as the outer cover. From there, you should be able to find a maker's name on the movement. If you will post both the name and the serial number off the movement back on here, I would be happy to tell you more.
