How do I attach tiny watch parts and do look good?
I have a duty to build a sculpture metaphor. Not as the original, but I chose the "time flies". I therefore close to 800 microscopic parts pocket watch that I bought on ebay to make flies. I assumed that I could weld them, but they are so tiny that now I'm not so sure. Does anyone experienced the things timepieces? Steampunk expertise, perhaps? you mentioned glue. What brand is it?
I am currently working on a project with parts to watch myself. I am using a light microscope, glue jewelry tweezers, which is applied with a very thin metal tool. You may make one (or more, because they are masses of glue on them, and you may not want to stop to clean, but just make a new one and continue.) Take a piece of 4 inch thin, stiff bristle and take about an inch downward, with a pliers. with a second pair of pliers to bend the thumb up in a loop to hang on. Submerge the other end into the glue jewels to collect drop. Hold the piece shows a pair of tweezers and apply adhesive to him with the wire tool. Do not forget to drop off one of the tools over loop in the opening of the tube of glue to prevent the seal when you stop your work for the day. Then when you resume work, just take it out and glue should continue to flow. Keep a portion of adhesive remover handy in case of accident. luck.
