How can I restore vintage glass ornaments?
I recently received my Christmas decorations grandmother of the 1940 / 50s. They are glass with shiny metallic finishes, and much of the finish is worn, marked or dull. Is there a way to fix this, or type particular painting that I could use to brighten up? Moreover, they are not helpful or particularly collectable, just for sentimental value.
Only inside, consider the silvering process commonly used in chemistry demos with a bottle of coke. it is a sugar solution, silver nitrate, and another thing do not remember offhand. glass bottle with silver nitrate google. It is an expensive process, simple but great. The last time I knew the silver nitrate was a few hundred dollars for a bottle rather small. enough to do all the ornanments I suppose. This does not really work for the interior. It would take too long to do on the outside (in addition to silver monolayer Thoroughbred faded).
