Will I have to spend money to watch TV next year?
It seems that there are many tactical fear there. According to sources, make it sound like you will either have to buy an HDTV or get cable to watch TV year next. This does not seem fair to me. I am perfectly happy with my TV and the receipt (antenae, no cable). Is the govement forced me to buy some thing I did not want or should we?
Yes. If you have an old (analog) TV and get your receipt on an antenna, you will not be able to obtain television reception after February 17, 2009, unless you buy a digital-analog converter. These should cost 50 $ - $ 75 and will be available in stores. However, you can request a coupon of $ 40 government that can be used to purchase the box. You can actually obtain two coupons per family, if you want to buy two converters for two televisions but you can not use two coupons ($ 80) to buy converter. One coupon per converter. See links below - the first is the official Federal Communications Commission and the second is where I had the riddle of the converter cost.
